Please, save yourself from experiencing these awful problems and live somewhere else!
Horrible property conditions. Rather than fixing maintenance issues, the company said we can just break our lease.
I cannot emphasize enough how dissatisfied I am with Mississinewa Property Management, specifically their Casa Patricia apartments. We have experienced countless issues and have voiced our concerns repeatedly, yet have received extremely poor customer service in return. First of all, the building itself is not maintained at all. Every time it rains, a huge puddle forms outside the front door, making it impossible to enter or exit the building without getting completely soaked. Right now, a large piece of the roof is hanging down outside the building and banging against someone's window. The common areas are absolutely filthy--dirt, bugs, cobwebs everywhere. The carpet and flooring desperately need to be replaced. The washer and dryer are outdated and cause damage to clothing. The grass around the outside of the building is rarely mowed. For the first 6 months of living in the building, the front door into the apartment complex did not have a spring catch, so it would slam loudly whenever anyone would enter or exit the building.
I apologize for the long review, but I want to prevent anyone else from experiencing the nightmares my roommate and I have been through. Please read.
We have been in our property for just 5 short weeks. In this time we have had MULTIPLE problems. For starters, we wait weeks for their maintenance men to come and fix the multiple problems in our duplex. When he had finally shown up, he left his work stuff around in a mess for us to clean up. Our tub knobs are now broken, and he brought a "friend" with him that doesn't even work for the company. He let his friend in the house, and we found out a week later this man isn't even empliyed by their company. I went into the business directly and let them know of this specific maintenance man comes back, we will be contacting the police department. I have yet to get a call back once on any of my issues and have had to go into the office just to get the minor things fixed. Not to mention, all of our windows and cabinets are covered in mold, and we were told, "nothing can be done, it's just from moisture" not true, fix it or replace the entire window. We were shown a completely done and ready to move in apartment, and told that is what ours would look like. Well the only thing similar is the carpet, which wasn't even installed correctly either. There is more rust in the apartment than not, and to make matters worse, for 5 weeks I was calling to inform them we had broken glass on our windows and it took me going into their office to get it fixed, but out of the 3 broken, only 2 were fixed, so now I have to go back into the office and pray they come before our lease is up.
My sister enjoys this place, and it's actually pretty neat
Unfortunately, these are only the issues with the building itself, not even including the nightmare we have experienced with our own personal apartment. When we originally moved in, the apartment smelled of sweat and mildew. It had not been thoroughly cleaned prior to our move-in, as there were visible cobwebs and dust around the rooms. At first, it appeared as though our key didn't work because the door lock is damaged and requires a special maneuver to open it properly. The water doesn’t drain well through the pipes, and within a 5-minute shower, there will be standing water up to my ankles. Additionally, the pipes under the sink have always been leaky. While we made the office aware of these issues, we weren't too concerned as they did not cause a huge inconvenience. However, when water started heavily leaking down from our bathroom ceiling and wall, we immediately contacted the office to place a service request. No one came to inspect the issue for several days, and our bathroom ceiling eventually fell in upon the toilet. When someone finally arrived to address the issue, it took an entire month to completely repair the ceiling and light fixture that was damaged. In addition, our heat wasn’t working at all from Thanksgiving to Christmas, despite numerous requests to have it fixed, and temperatures were below freezing during this time. Although we have contacted multiple office staff about these issues, we feel as though our voices have not been heard. We have been told by the Mississinewa Office that the cost we pay for rent ($400 for a 1-bedroom apartment) is only to fix repairs, not to maintain the building. But, as far as I can see, the company is not even fixing the necessary repairs. It seems as though our money has gone directly into the pockets of the owners without any concern for tenants’ well-being.
They are never on time to show a listing. NEVER. Like 5 different times. Had two instances of no shows. They often use older photos of the one time the place was remodeled, the actual place never looks like the photos. Rents are high given condition of home/property. They charge like the place was new and full of amenities. Everything looks like it's done on a severe DIY budget.
This company has put us in a bind not only with money due to the lack of proper windows/doors/insulation, but have also put as at a huge safety breach. Still unknowing who the mystery man they brought to our home was.
No customer service as well. Employees don't care about concerns of tenants.
